Welcome to Easton Walled Gardens

Welcome to 12 acres of 'lost' gardens. 400 years of gardening have created a peaceful and settled atmosphere, enhanced by the beautiful valley surrounding it.

Until Winter 2001, these gardens had been completely abandoned for 50 years. In 2009, seven years on, visitors can see more than just a restoration project. We have Snowdrops, Sweet Peas, Irises, David Austin Roses, 100 varieties of Daffodils, and our popular Cutflower Garden.

There are walks, drifts of bulbs, meadows, borders, auricula theatres, a cottage garden and a turf maze. We have a tearoom selling light lunches, teas and homemade cakes and a shop that stocks seasonal gardening gifts.

The gardens have been in the Cholmeley family for 14 generations and I work full time on the gardens. You will find an atmosphere quite unlike public properties. Visitors are kind enough to be 'staggered' at the amount of work we have achieved. We hope you leave feeling relaxed, enchanted and inspired to work on your own garden.

Just off the A1, in the middle England, we are easy to visit and look forward to seeing you.

Ursula Cholmeley

The Tearoom
Our tearoom is open from 11.00 am - 4.00 pm when the gardens are open throughout the summer. The tearoom is closed weekdays in March and October during rainy/windy days.

This year the emphasis on quality.  Our cakes have been good for some time but this year will see seasonal salads, jacket potatoes, toasties and good quality bread. All our soups are homemade and we can offer a variety of buffet style lunches for groups.

We are keen to support local producers and suppliers. Our cakes are made with free range eggs, our honey comes from bees that use the gardens and our salads from the gardens during the summer.

At present, the tearoom is open for visitors to the gardens only

Shop
The main premise for the shop is that the stock should be useful and beautiful. We have tools and planting kits made in England, our own seed range and a vegetable range from Franchi seeds in Italy. Exclusive childrens money boxes are made in Norfolk, chalk boards and ribbons from Lincolnshire, jams and honey made right here. In the summer, we sell posies and produce direct from the garden.

Group Bookings
We welcome groups to the gardens throughout the open season. Landy Hosli deals with all group and tour bookings and can tailor your visit to suit you.

Teas, lunches and evening catering can be arranged at the time of booking
